The Somerset Inn & Suites is a small seasonal hotel in the heart of Door County, Wisconsin. Their web site had very poor search engine rankings due to a graphical navigational structure, poor meta-data and name confusion with other businesses. Somerset Inn & Suites needed a solution within a conservative budget and they needed a team that could work with what was on the existing site…during the busy season the owners have no time to dedicate to improving the web site.

Distant Horizon quickly provided a new graphic design concept using our Proven Structure HTML skeleton. The owners had a number of digital photographs they were able to send over and they took just a few minutes out of their busy schedule to clarify the different amenities that their hotel and each type of room had to offer. This allowed us to create a site that is more useful for prospective customers. When the owner commented that they had loads of comment cards with glowing praise for their hotel, we decided to add a testimonial rotator to the right-hand navigation that would reinforce the pictures and amenities. In order to ensure that no reservation request forms are irrecoverably lost in transit we database all form submissions in a permanent archive. Once the new site was live Distant Horizon setup Google Adwords Pay-Per-Click Advertising to immediately drive new traffic to the site during their peak autumn season.

The Somerset Inn now has a web site that they can expect to use for at least three to five years with little updating except for changing prices or adding amenities.
